In May 2001, my physician had told me that I needed to lose weight, (I weighed 235) and to lower my cholesterol (my total cholesterol was 234). The good cholesterol was 60
and the “bad” cholesterol was 138. His advice was to eat less and consult a nutritionist. My wife had been seeing Dr. Mindel for some years and said I should go to him.
Dr. Mindel first saw me on June 6, 2001. He put me on a series of vitamins and supplements and asked that I eliminate grains and potatoes from my diet. I was already exercising 3-5 times a week and he recommended that I continue. I’ve seen him every few weeks since then and from time to time, based on the testing he performs, he varies my supplements and/or dietary restrictions. Between June and October, I lost 22 lbs. My cholesterol level went down from 234 to 184. I was amazed, as was my physician, whose comment was, “Whatever you are doing, keep it up!”

I first consulted with Dr. Mindel for my thyroid and adrenal problems and to address metabolism and hormone issues. When I arrived in his office, I weighed 168 lbs (I am 5′ 2″ tall), my cholesterol was 365 and I was deeply upset about my situation. My endocrinologist had put me on steroids to take care of my adrenal problems and all that did was create a hormone imbalance and the weight gain. My doctor was very good, but I realized that all she did was prescribe a pill for every symptom instead of looking at the whole picture.
Dr Mindel was recommended to me by a dear friend. After examining me, he put me on a course of supplements and asked me to change over to the natural form of thyroid hormone replacement. He also did body modification and kinesiology that made a huge difference in the treatment. Within 6 months (of visiting him bi-weekly) my cholesterol has dropped to 208 and has stayed there, my weight became manageable and I stopped taking 4 out of 7 prescription drugs.
To this day my endocrinologist doesn’t understand how it is that I am doing so well without the steroids. My medical condition still exists but Dr. Mindel has made life livable again. I cannot thank him enough.
